Our CDM packages for Clients

CDM 2015 defines a Client as an organisation or individual for whom a construction project is carried out.

The Client has overall responsibility for the successful management of the project, including health and safety. They are supported by the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor during different phases of the project.

Many Clients are unaware of their legal responsibilities when undertaking a new project and are shocked to learn that breaches are a criminal offence punishable by fines and in theory, prison sentences. It is therefore essential they seek advice, particularly if they have little experience.

We can offer Clients 3 options:

1. The most common option is to engage us as your Principal Designer, we’ll then include our CDM Advisory package for Clients.

2. If you have already appointed a Principal Designer we’re able to combine our CDM Advisory package for Clients with our CDM Advisory package for Principal Designers.

3. We can act solely as CDM Client Advisory.

Our packages include:

  • Advising on Client obligations under CDM 2015 legislation during the project
  • Assisting with the appointment of duty holders
  • Advising on the Pre-Construction Information required
  • Assisting with project notification
  • Advising on welfare facilities required
  • Feedback on the Construction Phase Plan
  • Site audit(s) and reports to ensure compliance
  • Regular communication with duty holders
  • Advising on the Health and Safety File and if required, compiling the final document

All options can also be combined with our Health & Safety package for Principal Contractors. This will ensure seamless communication and efficiency between all duty-holders.
